[three_fourth] The ASGE Postgraduate Course at Digestive Disease Week^® (DDW) 2018 will feature an expert faculty of master endoscopists, who will review the latest endoscopic technologies and share tips for perfecting various procedures. The two-day course, New Frontiers in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy: A Crossroads Between Innovation and Practice, will take place June 3-4, 2018, in Washington, DC.

“The course, which is designed to appeal to novice as well as advanced endoscopists, will provide information and direction on new technologies, along with updates on some of the more traditional procedures that we perform,” said Jennifer A. Christie, MD, FASGE, associate professor of medicine, clinical director of gastroenterology and director of gastrointestinal motility at Emory School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA.

“Leading the course will be a faculty of experts from the U.S. and around the world who will engage attendees in constructive, challenging and thought-provoking discussions covering old and new techniques for both old and new problems,” she added.

Dr. Christie is co-director of the 2018 ASGE Postgraduate Course along with Srinadh Komanduri, MD, MS, FASGE, AGAF, associate professor of medicine and surgery at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL, and John J. Vargo, MD, MPH, FASGE, AGAF, chair of the department of gastroenterology and hepatology at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio.

“The annual postgraduate course provides an important platform for us to come together to discuss, debate and learn from one another,” Dr. Christie said. “It’s an invaluable opportunity to reassess what we do and discover more effective, safer ways to do them with the goal of improving patient outcomes.”
