The 21st annual ASGE Video Plenary session on Tuesday will feature a peer-reviewed selection of videos showcasing state-of-the-art endoscopic techniques and unusual cases from around the world. New this year, nine videos will receive “Best of Best” awards and the highest scoring video will be presented a special award.

“This is always one of our most popular sessions at DDW^®. It’s not only educational and entertaining, but it’s also really exciting and inspirational to see the cutting edge of where endoscopy is going today,” said Rajesh N. Keswani, MD, MS, associate professor of gastroenterology and hepatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, IL. “The session is somewhat different every year because GI endoscopy is such a rapidly advancing field. If someone last attended the video forum five years ago, for example, and then came this year, it would be like seeing a whole new field.”

Dr. Keswani is a member of the review committee that selected this year’s submissions. He will co-moderate of the video forum alongside review committee chairs Gerard Isenberg, MD, FASGE, AGAF, and Vanessa Shami, MD, FASGE, AGAF, as well as members of the ASGE educational products and CME committees who were involved in the review process, and ASGE Crystal Award honorees.

“Out of nearly 150 videos that were submitted, we selected the top 26 that really strike a balance between novel things we don’t see every day and elegantly solved clinical issues that we do commonly see in practice,” Dr. Keswani said. “The great thing about this session is that it gives attendees an opportunity to not only see really impressive use of gastrointestinal endoscopy from across the globe, but they also get information they can take back to their own practices and improve patient care on the local level.”

The videos selected for the session will be available for viewing through the ASGE Online Learning Center at www.asge.org.
