How many times have you attended DDW®? I have attended every year since 2012.
How is this meeting different than other meetings you’ve attended?
This year I won the ASGE Crystal Award for public outreach. We are launching a large effort to promote colon cancer screening and awareness. This will hopefully be one of the largest efforts in recent U.S. history. We also have four amazing abstracts. One is on novel uses of the lumen-apposing metal stent and another is on cryotherapy for gastric antral vascular ectasia.
What session or event are you most looking forward to at the meeting?
The Crystal Awards and all the fun parties in Chicago!
If you could have lunch with one presenter at the meeting, who would it be and why?
I would love to split a Chicago deep dish pizza with four of my mentors from New York Presbyterian-Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons: Drs. Frank Gress, Amrita Sethi, John Poneros and Tamas Gonda. They are among the most skilled interventional gastroenterologists in the world and they inspire me every day. I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work with and learn from them.
Do you plan to do anything touristy while you’re in Chicago?
I hope to go to all the famous Chicago pizza joints. I love running along the water, the Chicago Cubs and all the fun sports bars!
