Be Informed: Session Formats at DDW® 2025

To be gutsy takes confidence; and to be confident takes a strong foundation. The education program at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2025 provides the support you need to thrive in your career and to better serve those living with digestive diseases.

More than 400 scientific sessions and 4,300 oral abstract and ePoster presentations. During the meeting, online attendees will have access to 64 livestreamed sessions. All sessions will be available to view after the meeting ends, for both in-person and online attendees.

Below, we have broken down the session formats at DDW. A full list of session types is available on the DDW website and in the DDW Meeting Planner. DDW registration and housing is open. Register by April 30 for your final chance to save on registration fees.

Invited-Speaker Sessions feature some of the most prestigious experts in their fields and highlight a wide range of topics that appeal to a broad base of attendees. Examples include:

  • Clinical Symposium 
  • Live Demonstrations 
  • State-of-the-Art Lecture 

 

Abstract-Based Sessions feature the latest research findings in the field of gastroenterology. Accepted abstracts may be presented in lecture or poster sessions. Examples include: 

  • Poster Sessions 
  • Late-Breaking Abstract Plenary 
  • Video Plenary 

 

Industry Sessions Ticketed Sessions require an additional fee and can be added to your registration at the same time as DDW Scientific Sessions. In the DDW Preliminary Program and other planning materials, these sessions will be noted with a dollar sign symbol.

Examples include: 

  • DDW Breakfast Connections 
  • DDW Meet-the-Professor Luncheons 

 

Industry Sessions are hosted by our trusted industry partners. Examples include:  

  • Product Theater 
  • Satellite Symposium 

 

Networking Sessions & Special Events include sessions and receptions outside the traditional DDW session types. Examples include: 

  • Meet-the-Expert Sessions 
  • Reception/Special Event
