Meeting planners have made it easier than ever for attendees to navigate Digestive Disease Week^® (DDW), which will be held May 6-9 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

DDW Mobile App

The most feature-rich tool to plan your time at the meeting is the DDW Mobile App. You can find complete session information, browse full-text abstracts, access convention center maps and create a personally tailored itinerary on any smartphone or tablet.

The app is home to the most up-to-date, comprehensive meeting information, from speaker changes to schedule updates. Schedule information is organized by day, time, society and track, and every session is fully searchable.

Download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play. Just go to the store and search “DDW 2017,” download the app and sign in with the name and attendee number on your DDW badge. You will need to know your Apple ID and login information to download the app from the Apple store, even though it is free.

Expanded DDW Daily News

Apps not your thing? DDW planners are also making it easier for attendees to find what they need in the meeting’s printed materials. DDW Daily News, the official meeting newspaper, will feature three sections this year, creating one comprehensive on-site resource.

You can flip through the Exhibit Guide section to find exhibitor listings and floor plans to help you navigate the Exhibit Hall and use the Program section (formerly the Schedule-at-a-Glance) to plan your educational itinerary. Each section will feature unique content, including a handful of city articles to help you make the most of your time in Chicago. The main news section will once again feature the latest news from the meeting, including live coverage of educational sessions.

Exhibitors matched with educational tracks

Meeting planners introduced a new format last year that organized every DDW session and poster into 15 color-coded tracks (see chart). This year, the tracks have been expanded to include exhibitors. Attendees can search the IBD track, for example, to find all sessions, posters and exhibitors with information and resources related to inflammatory bowel disease.

New Exhibitor Pavilion

DDW is also making it easier for attendees to locate new products and companies in the Exhibit Hall. The New Exhibitor Pavilion, rows 1500-2000 in the hall, features new exhibitors and companies that have not exhibited at DDW since 2013. Positioned in the front of the Exhibit Hall, the pavilion will be filled with innovative companies and products.

ePosters Theater

While you’re in the Exhibit Hall, be sure to attend the free tours at the new DDW 2017 ePosters Theater, located in the Poster Hall in the South Hall. Experts from DDW’s four sponsoring societies will be joined by poster presenters to lead attendees on virtual tours of the meeting’s latest science. They will host lively discussions on 12 topics of interest in a small, theater setting. Check the mobile app for the latest schedule.
