Even if you are not the main or submitting author of an abstract submitted for Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2018, you still must play a part in abstract submission. Any author listed on an abstract submitted must complete financial disclosure, either listing all financial relationships with commercial entities or indicating that none exist. Below is some useful information for 2018 abstract co-authors:
- When disclosing a financial relationship, an author should note the organization, what was received and what role he or she played in the organization.
- Upon successful submission of an abstract, all co-authors will recieve an email message containing instructions on completing their disclosures. Authors have the option of clicking on the link included in the email to navigate directly to the disclosure form. Alternatively, co-authors may log into the submission site to complete their disclosures with the username and password information provided in the email.
- Co-author disclosure information is due by 3 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017. DDW Administration will send periodic reminders to outstanding co-authors prior to the Dec. 15 deadline; however, all authors should be advised that any abstracts missing co-author financial disclosure upon the deadline are in jeopardy of not being reviewed or considered for the meeting.
- Co-authors may edit submitted disclosure forms any time before the Dec. 15 deadline. To make an edit, a co-author should log into the submission site and the select the “Disclosure” link in the dropdown menu under his or her name in the top right corner of the page.
