Session Description

Dr. Shaukat’s state-of-the-art lecture will address what every endoscopist and endoscopy unit needs to know about establishing a high-quality colonoscopy program. She will review the evidence-based interventions that improve colonoscopy quality indicators such as ADR, withdrawal time and preparation quality. The lecture will conclude with a discussion of the future technologies that will enhance colonoscopy practice. This session will feature a live Q&A session so attendees can ask questions in real time. Continue learning during ASGE Presidential Plenary II, taking place Saturday, May 22, 1–2:30 p.m.

Dr. Shaukat’s area of research is epidemiology and prevention of colorectal cancer. Her focus is on studying effectiveness of screening for colorectal cancer, developing and validating risk scores to optimize screening strategies, and developing and validating quality indicators for screening colonoscopy programs.
