Session Description
In this state-of-the-art lecture, Dr. Garcia-Tsao will present an update in the management of varices, variceal hemorrhage, and other complications of cirrhosis vis-à-vis strategies that reduce portal pressure. The session will feature 30 minutes of live Q&A.
After attending the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe stages of cirrhosis and main goals of care at each stage.
- Identify main pathogenic mechanisms leading to portal hypertension.
- Recognize therapies that act on these mechanisms and lead to a decrease in portal pressure.
