In addition to sessions in English, DDW is including several sessions in Spanish and Chinese for our international attendees.
During the SSAT Presidential Plenary on Sunday, SSAT President Stanley W. Ashley, MD, said the society is preparing for a new strategic plan that will re-evaluate the society’s role as well as its financial future and ongoing relationship with DDW®. “We are at the right time to start planning the next 10 years,” he said.
Haru Inoue, MD, PhD, performed the world’s first peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) for achalasia 10 years ago, and on Saturday, June 2, he will share his expertise during a SSAT hands-on course at DDW® 2018.
Now in its fifth year, ASGE’s International Program at DDW® 2018 will feature six joint symposia with international organizations representing gastroenterologists from Korea, Mexico, Latin America, India, Japan and Brazil, according to ASGE International Committee Chair Prasad G. Iyer, MD, MS, FASGE.
When developing programming for DDW® 2018, the SSAT Program Committee aimed to create a broad array of options to meet the demands of society members and DDW attendees of all interests and skill levels, according to SSAT Program Committee Chair Vic Velanovich, MD.
