A world-renowned restaurant publication — the Michelin Red Guide — dished out two stars for two D.C. restaurants while honoring 11 restaurants with one-star accolades in 2018.

DDW® implements new photo policy

After lively discussions over the past couple of years, the DDW Council decided to implement a “your data, your choice” photo policy to accommodate diverse audiences and an influx of technology, while respecting presenters’ research. The new policy allows photography and social media postings, while also giving presenters an opportunity to opt out. Previously, photography was strictly prohibited.

Special programming caters to trainees, early career GIs

Physicians who are new to gastroenterology have unique needs when it comes to starting a career in clinical practice or research, according to Avinash Ketwaroo, MD, chair of the AGA Trainee and Early Career Committee. “To address those needs, AGA has developed some very special programming at DDW® that will help trainees and early career GIs give their careers a boost, network with mentors and peers, and review board material,” he said.

DDW® awards basic science grants to young researchers

DDW® has awarded 20 Basic Science Travel Awards to young researchers for the third year in a row. The researchers, including Banrida Wahlang, PhD, who were selected to win a $1,000 travel grant from a pool of more than 250 applicants, will be featured in Saturday afternoon’s DDW Clinical Symposium Basic Science Quick Shots.
