Attendee Spotlight: Chad Barnes, MD

Chad Barnes, MD
General Surgery Resident, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee

Chad Barnes, MD

How many times have you attended DDW®?
This is my first year and I am very excited.

What are you hoping to get out of your first DDW? Knowledge.

What session or event are you most looking forward to at the meeting?
I am most looking forward to the SSAT and AHPBA Joint Symposium Updates and New Horizons in Pancreatic Cancer on Monday. Pancreatic cancer is my topic of research.

If you could have lunch with one presenter at the meeting, who would it be and why?
This is a tough question because there are so many great presenters. If I had to choose one, it would be Jennifer Tseng, MD, because she is a surgical oncologist who specializes in hepato-pancreatico-biliary diseases, which I am interested in.

Do you plan to do anything touristy while you’re in Chicago?
Chicago is my hometown so I will be spending time with family and friends.

Social network of choice? Facebook

Favorite app? The DDW Mobile App, of course. My second favorite app is Google Maps. I can’t live without it.

If another attendee recognizes me at the meeting because of this article, I hope he or she … is not disappointed after meeting me in person.

Dr. Barnes participated in the 2017 SSAT Research Conference and is the SSAT/Society of Black Academic Surgeons (SBAS) Resident/Fellow Research Award winner.

Please refer to the DDW Mobile App or the Program section in Monday’s DDW Daily News for the time and location of this and other DDW events.
