How many times have you attended DDW?

Every year since 1978 except 1980.

Editor’s note: Dr. Wilson was identified in the AGA Community, AGA’s member-only discussion forum, for attending a noteworthy number of DDW® meetings over the course of her career.

How is the meeting different than other meetings you’ve attended?

Advances in digital format and planning.

What area of digestive disease research do you find most promising or fascinating?

Advances in the management of functional bowel disorders.

Since we’re in Washington, D.C., is there a legislative issue that you feel is critical to the future of patient care?

Universal coverage, but at the very least a continuation of our present efforts with the Affordable Care Act.

If you could have coffee with one presenter at the meeting, who would it be and why?

The AGA Julius Friedenwald Medal winner Dr. Loren Laine.

Social network of choice?

Facebook because family members use it.

After DDW concludes, I plan to … go to the Smithsonian African American Museum and the World War II memorial.
