Traditionally, women have been under-represented in the field of gastroenterology, but there is data that shows more and more women entering the field. Despite the gender gap slowly closing, however, female GIs are still facing unique issues and challenges in the field. For this reason, Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) and the sponsoring societies endeavor to provide events for women which address some of the obstacles they face in order to support the advancement of women in GI. Read on for details surrounding two of these events.

I am very pleased with this forum. I had been on the lookout for the lunch organized by this group in previous years. Please count me in as I will be attending the two sessions at the ddw2018.
