Here for Knowledge: Session Formats at DDW® 2023

Come to update your knowledge. Leave inspired. At Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2023, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into the newest research and hear from top experts. Attend sessions presented in a variety of formats, so you can access the updates you need, in your preferred learning format. Over 400 original scientific sessions will be presented on-site for in-person attendees. During the meeting, online attendees will have access to 64 livestreamed and on-demand sessions. All sessions will also be available to view after the meeting ends, for both in-person and online attendees.

Below, we’ve broken down the session formats at DDW. A full list of session types is available on the DDW website. DDW registration and housing will open Jan. 18, 2023, for members of AASLD, AGA, ASGE and SSAT. Nonmembers can register and book housing starting Jan. 25.

Invited-Speaker Sessions feature some of the most prestigious experts in their fields and highlight a wide range of topics that appeal to a broad base of attendees. Examples include:

  • State-of-the-Art Lecture
  • Clinical Symposium
  • Plenary Session

 

Abstract-Based Sessions feature the newest research findings from abstracts submitted to the sponsoring societies. Accepted abstracts may be presented in lecture or poster sessions. Examples include:

  • Late-Breaking Abstract Plenary
  • Research Forum
  • Video Plenary

 

Ticketed Sessions require an additional fee. You can sign up for these sessions when you register for DDW. Space may be limited in these sessions. In the DDW Preliminary Program and other planning materials, these sessions will be noted with a dollar sign symbol.  Examples include:

  • DDW Breakfast Connections
  • DDW Meet-the-Investigator/Meet-the-Professor Luncheons
  • Postgraduate Courses

 

Industry Sessions are hosted by our trusted industry partners. Examples include:

  • Product Theater
  • Satellite Symposium

 

Networking Sessions include sessions and receptions outside the traditional DDW session types. Examples include:

  • Meet-the-Experts sessions
  • DDW Diversity Reception
