Dr. Sharma has been at the forefront in improving diagnosis and management of GI diseases and cancer, specifically in advanced imaging and endoscopic treatments. He has over 400 publications, including original articles and book chapters, and is regularly invited to present at major national and international meetings. Dr. Sharma’s research has focused on Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal cancer gastroesophageal reflux disease and evaluating novel imaging techniques for upper and lower gastrointestinal diseases. He currently serves as a governing board member and treasurer for ASGE.

This session will cover research applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis and management of esophageal diseases, including Barrett’s esophagus. During his presentation, Dr. Sharma will discuss which applications of AI may or may not impact endoscopic practice.
